I had just parked my car and it started bouncing violently on it’s tires. I had to hold onto the steering wheel for dear life. I have been in many large earthquakes, 3 hurricanes, major floods, and a volcano eruption (yes really), but that quake was the worst. I still have painic attacks crossing bridges, and driving on underpasses. In truth, there is no time or place a man can not die. Make your peace with that and the fact that we really have no control. Be as kind as you can to others. Other had already left so the industrial area where I worked was almost empty. Going down the street I felt like I got a flat tire. My car was tossed around. I didn’t know what happen. I pulled over and looked at my car. Everything was okay so I continued onto my parents house less than a mile away and it took me three hours due to the traffic and no traffic lights. Car radio didn’t work so I was still clueless. Seeing similar videos from places like japan made me forget how unprotected Americans are for pretty much any type of disaster. The worst thing you can do in pretty much any situation is panic.
