This would give local law enforcement authority over federal jurisdiction, which does not create a middle ground as what is being currently portrayed in this argument. Altho, I do agree that joint cooperation between local and federal law enforcement should be encouraged, what is said here creates more power to local police to usurp federal authority essentially creating another imbalance of power. This is an argument to essentially change from left hand to right hand with no real adjustment to remove the problem being presented on a foundational level. The main point being said here is that amendment rights are being violated, people have a right of freedom of speech which is being infringed upon as a means to stop or silence whistleblowers. Reminding ALL BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT that they are legally bound by the Constitution and Bill of Rights and they have no legal authority to manipulate or adjust those original amendments set forth by the founding fathers is what needs to be done. The law enforcement branches enforce the laws written by congress, hence why they are investigated and interrogated by congress during congressional hearings. This is essentially the equivalency of having a boss enact a corrupt policy, then complains to the people who are required to uphold that policy. Congress has allowed a large portion of bills to pass which violate these amendment rights. These problems that we see now were originally created by long standing corruption in Congress. All law enforcement branches have the capability of enforcing the law when the "law makers" are in good standing with the original founding documents set forth to define the law. If you want law enforcement to be able to do their job, we should have abolished lobbying of congress in the 1990s to avoid corruption and alterior motives of special interests to manipulate the arbiters of the law. As far as saying the FBI are inflating crime numbers, the past 4 years....over 15 million immigrants have entered this country thru an open border policy. Some of them have been deported for committing high crimes such as murder and rape. These 15 million people will easily add to the increase crime rate weve seen rise the past years, not including the disgruntled citizens that have routinely protested en masse in which sometimes will turn into riots. We saw this last election cycle as well. Political correctness does not allow congress or the branches of government to say that unauthorized immigration is causing an increase of crime......because if you say this, then you are a "insert name calling here".... As a head of a branch of law enforcement, how can you do your job when your hands are tied behind your back by the same people that have essentially hijacked your position of authority?
