Of course the issue of veto power should not be able to be used when there is a conflict of interest. The US blocked altering this years ago! India suggested it years ago - no-one supported India. Aust and US use abstaining in the UN regularly - for political purposes. The matter needs to be picked up by the ICC Office of the Prosecutor who acts independently. Do you hear any nation-state pushing for this? NO! Why? Because they do not want to be held accountable for their actions in the international courts. The UN has not come into it's own yet - and you want to disband it and leave it to corrupt nation-states to take away citizens rights with no oversight?
