<<@Lucifurion says : There is no "climate emergency" for fks sake.>> <<@StraightOuttaPaddock says : and what? you think making those electric cars is save for environment? yeah especially those batteries xDD you are a joke xD its there with all those laws to make more money, it doesnt do anything to help the planet, go and buy nice electric car every 4 years from now and big corpos will still poison our environment you clowns>> <<@marsbearmcw3050 says : Don’t you love how they are worried about people tripping. Never mind the electrical current crossing the footpath. The selfishness that people have that causes them to think that charging their precious EV over rides the safety of innocent people is sickening. Just imagine everyone in that street and every other street stretching cables across footpaths to power their apparently green cars. EV drivers need to take responsibility for unsafe actions. There are ample public charging stations that can provide a safe secure charging environment.>> <<@antontsau says : emptybrained EV owners never heard of wallmount overhead cable support arms (easy to google). They do not need, they Save The Planet and thats it, let everybody else provide them everything.>> <<@knight2425 says : I agree with the fines, if an elderly person trips over a cord they could hit their heads and get seriously hurt. If you are unable to charge on your property and have to charge on the road then the cable should have to be underneath the footpath but councils should help owners do this seeing as it’s council property. Perhaps councils could”d install a lift able plate so the owner can put a cable underneath it but it owner should bear some cost of this.>> <<@dino9071 says : The Ev charging station near me has cars parked on the side of the road charging all the cars are facing the opposite direction of the traffic so they can plug in they have to drive towards on coming traffic on the wrong side of the road to get to the charger station a petrol car driving on the wrong side against the traffic would be fined what's going on.>> <<@crashnreset6987 says : EV owners are on the front line of the battle for sanity..... they are the cannon fodder ;D>> <<@coconuciferanuts339 says : Boiling to death via climate change is rubbish. And so before buying a EV you would look at what is the impactions of doing that. In other countries some have paid to get the cables cut into the footpath to get around this but that also have the problems of you can't guarantee you get that same parking spot all the time even if get some sort of approvals which I doubt they will. So anyone without off street parking have to rely on public charge station or their workplace.>> <<@LyuboA says : you just can't make this shit up πŸ˜‚ from what i can see apparently atleast 90% of the world's population was replaced by SHEEP πŸ‘ identifying as human>> <<@lesliemeehan3724 says : what a waste come on there no climate crissis and electric car should be a personal choice not Government choice>> <<@talbotdentureclinic9123 says : Climate change is hella fake πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ>> <<@stevejones9062 says : How do these wankers even get to be popular, sorry I forgot BOGANS RULE.>> <<@oldtimers6460 says : Councils worry about other countries and not their electorate. The other thing is , that is not a permanent certified electrical fixture , no doubt that tape won’t last , and if there is any electrical fault with that cable running across the ground , in wet weather it could be an electrocution hazard. Having said all this, governments pushing the EV mandates and electric cars should have foreseen this problem and made available some sort of safe electric outlet available, perhaps something like the old parking meter on a pole style of thing . Unfortunately, politicians are often not the brightness sparks off the grinding wheel, but here we are today.
