Debates are entirely about optics. And in this, the Dems just lost the independent and right leaning centrist vote in percentages the Dems cant afford to do if they want a clear victory in November. They need to respectfully let Biden go. Give him a solid send off for a lifetime of commitment to our poltiics. Its deserved, just the same as any lifetime politician. But we need to look elsewhere and do it NOW. I suggest Newsome. He is articulate, speaks well at the podium, and hes good looking. He has the ability to talk to Trump directly and he can do so better than most because he actually knows Trump and he knows a lot of dirt on him. He runs one of the top 10 economies in the world as the state of California. He is big on the ideas of e-government and infrastrucutre upgrades. He can talk to the Latino and Black voter and has done things specifically for their favour in California. (for better or worse in some cases) And with the Dems losing 20 percent of the black vote currently, then need that from him. He can speak to the white vote, which the Dems currently are struggling with- and more importantly he can speak to the white independent and white, right leaning voters which the Dems need to create a bigger victory. The election in November needs to be a big vicotry, NOT a close race. A close race does NOTHING for the country. A close race either leaves us with Trump as President and project 2025 rips us apart. Or Trump just goes back to Florida and runs HALF our entire congress and the judicial branch as a proxy president. We need to win big and send the message that Trump IS NOT WELCOME in our politics. We cant get that with Biden. And that needs to be the real discussion here, not this speculation about standing your ground.
