Many of us Grey Nomad travellers talk about these 'shit' roads often out here. When one considers the 'zillions' of dollars Queensland keeps telling us that mining (coal/gas/etc) and agriculture is making out here they are just doing patchup works and it is often these patches that soon crumble. Bitumen spraycoat direct onto underlying soils is substandard construction and just 'cheap'. Just go drive down for examples the 'highways' (sic) from Condamine to Goondiwindi and Rolleston to Moura. What pieces of crap Qld calls highways. It was a relief to travel out west and south into NSW. We have now decided to remove central and eastern Queensland from all non essential touring for our future travels due to the uncomfortable drive and safety.
