It will take massive amounts of money, time, and resources to vet out a new company. They have to research, license, PoC (Proof of Concept), test/validate, implement and train on the new solution. That is assuming the first one they try is compatible, they may need to do it a few times to find one that meets all their requirements. For large corporations, you could be talking about millions or tens of millions of dollars. You just need to turn off automatic updates, and have a dev/test environment.
