Whether you believe in climate change or not, the burning of natural gas is actually more harmful than refined oil products to the environment, so countries are reducing its use in an attempt to meet their carbon zero targets. Gas fired boilers are no longer being installed in new build homes in several European countries and many more are stopping installing them in the next few years. Any existing gas boilers will be replaced with different technologies when they are due to be replaced. Within about 30 years there will be no domestic gas boilers left in Europe and that will only leave the demand from industry which may take a while longer to make the transition. Gas fired power stations are on the decline in Europe, so with only the demand from industry left, countries like Norway and a few others will easily supply all of those requirements.
