And who is protesting, you ask? The story gets even more absurd. For over 35 years, the judicial system has become the most nepotistic enterprise in Mexico. No one could join without a family connection, turning it into a sphere of nepotism. Judges and officials have been voting themselves salaries ranging from $7,000 to $15,000 USD a month, and because they are all family, relatives, or close friends, they're all in line to receive these payments.
