But the general consensus is that our boomer parents aren’t involved with our kids nearly as much as their parents were involved with us when we were kids in the 80s/90s. Add to that the rising cost of childcare, housing and the fact that a two income household isn’t enough to stay afloat for most nowadays. In some countries, clinics and dentists are open evenings and Saturdays so that lessens scheduling conflicts and having to take time off. There's much less paperwork to deal with and no need to deal with insurance etc etc. Even with things like medical and dental checkups for entering first grade, my parents never had to deal with it because in my home country they bring the dentists, medical checkups and vaccinations onsite to the school. There's just so much to deal with here.
