This choice certainly affected my retirement, being relegated into poverty, relying on Social Security in an economy that no longer makes it possible to survive. Disabled and retired, dependent on a VA Healthcare system that refuses to provide care without having to jump through hoops to get the care I have earned. Now, I am having to rebuild my resume, and return to work. It will be difficult to find part-time employment given the limitations of disability. What employer will assume the risk of hiring a senior citizen with disabilities?
