Some people appear to have a hard time, hearing the western allies are called out coawards for their reluctance to act more decisively and stop Putin's war machine. After all this reluctance (I called fear and lack of resolve), seems to be a very hard 180 from the 1991 US and its coalition entering Kuwait to "liberate it" from Saddam Husseins invasion. The US (and its 42 countries coalition) sent in troops, placing American and allies troops' lives in harm way, with no hesitation, but of course then there was a motivation, America's dependence on OIL was at risk. But wait a minute, then in 2003 another American lead coalition invaded Iraq arguing that Sadam's regime had WMDs, which WERE NEVER FOUND, because it was just a justification they made up (LIE) so the US and its coalition could feels justified to invade Iraq and depose Saddam and his regime, with no regard, once again, of the many lives (American and allies) that would be lost. So America and its western allies have a difficult time here explaining why they have not entered Ukraine and stop Putin. Maybe the only factor that is missing here is that Ukraine does not produce oil in enough amount to be of importance to the west. LACK OF MOTIVATION!

The Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) concept was hatched in the Rand Corporation think tank in the very early 50s. It is, by definition, totally insane. It defines an automatic response that starts nuclear winter and sterilizes large areas of the northern hemisphere for thousands of years with an ice age that ends most life above the level of worms everywhere else. Insane. And it doesn't work unless it is explained in detail to all who enter the Nuclear Club. Even Iran. Extinction is forever. Insane. But ... But no one has dared use nukes because deciding to start that process makes you even crazier than the psychotic geniuses that thought it up. Even in Russia it isn't the craziest that rises to the top. So it's still working. Sort of. As sick as that sounds ... and is. I wonder what time UCS's countdown clock has? China is in a really crappy position. Largely their own doing ... again. I suspect that China isn't going to stand with anyone but itself for a while. Their economy is imploding and the floods are taking everything else with them. Governmentally, whoever ends up on top, I suspect China will turn inward. This has been the pattern for many hundreds of years. I hope their economy doesn't tank. At that point rubles would look pretty good. Don't think the US attitude towards nuclear is ever sane. Refer to the first sentence. The Rand rule. But he's right. You have to assume some workable nuclear weapons. Kind of like she assumes the workability of US weapons. But they don't affect conventional forms of war. These keep getting deadlier in spite of restrictions. In this case you have to, of course. I can still hate it.. But again I think counting on the US is a mistake. Maybe I don't understand Russia. Never been so that's probably true. But I would be surprised if Russia doesn't consider the US strategic and the EU tactical. Unless the leadership of Russia is genuinly batshit crazy the EU MUST be considered first because they share a continent. But back to the original topic. Obviously you can not count on American weapons. Intelligence might be a different story entirely. I would be mighty surprised if Ukraine isn't looking at better satellite photos than I am online.

You fight fire with fire. Most Western leaders are showing a high degree of ignorance about Eastern European countries - they live in a simplified narrative about a "great" Russia, when the reality is a much darker one. It is a territory that has fallen into the hands of a few elites. The West has brought new technologies, media, expertise to those elites and now they are using all of it in an unethical way. We all knew about MH17, we all knew about the presence of Russian military under cover in Don Bas. But all those years in our media we keep repeating the lies of the Kremlin "Russia says ... blabla ... it was not us." And with that they show colorful Kremlin or a golden palace with the thug or his helpers sitting in those places, as IF they had a sense of ethics or morality. No. Starting with the appartment bombings Putin has demonstrated a total disregard for human life and a total lack of honesty and spine. He is ONLY focused on power. And his special feature is HIDING the truth, spreading falsehoods, and cruelty.

Ironically, even though Biden talks a lot about the world evolving beyond the politics of the 'Cold War', his head is still stuck there with respect to Russia- he still thinks of their strategic capabilities as if it were the strategic capabilities of the USSR/the old empire, when by now we have seen enough proof that it is nowhere close. It is like comparing the capability of the Roman empire in 450 to the kingdom of Odoacer in 550... it is the same land, yes, but the power and knowledge of the empire was gone. Obviously, when it comes to nuclear weapons, one does not want to run the risk of even 1 or 2 of them being detonated, but in terms of their ICBMs and their long-range aerial capacities overall.. I bet not only do they not have sufficient personnel, but many of those facilities and weapons have not undergone any serious maintenance since 1992 and have degraded substantially. Combine this with India and China and with the people around Putin who wouldn't want to execute such an order.... and sufficient to say I find the view of Biden and his advisers to be rather anachronistic and stuck in the past-- as he is with so many foreign policy issues.

Im from America....i was born here....and im ashamed that my President Biden and his administration and Kirby and the American military still refuse to lift the restrictions on Ukraine to allow them to attack and destroy military targets and oil depots deep inside Russia with long range missles that America gave Ukraine. As well as to target the airports and air fields deep inside Russia where Putin flies his Russian bombers out of to fly over to Ukraine to drop their dumb glide bombs onto Ukranian positions along parts of the frontlines there. American leaders are still trying to tie one hand behind Ukraine's back while they are fighting bravely and heroically trying to defeat Putin's Russian invaders. It makes no sense. I heard Kirby say there is still no change in America's Ukranian policy and that instead America is focused on sending more aide packages to Ukraine that will include more missle to air defense systems but meanwhile more and more innocent Ukranian citizens are being killed by Russian bombs hitting their apartment buildings. I heard that one Ukranian man 83 years old was just sitting in his apartment living his life when he was killed and murdered by a long range Russian missle. Another Ukranian man and his family were bombed by a Russian missle and the only survivor was the Ukranian man. This man lost his 7 year old , 18 year old , and 21 year old daughters and lost his wife all instantly at the same time after a Russian attack. This is disgusting and horrifying!!! Nearly 3 years after Putin's illegal invasion of Ukraine back in February 24th 2022 Ukranian cities are still not fully defended and protected from Russian missle and drone attacks. Nato countries and Nato forces are all just right next door to the West of Ukraine and Polish leaders want to help Ukraine shoot down Russian missles and drones that fly over the western half of Ukraine but they say that they can't because all of the NATO member countries must first all unanimously agree on this?? Ukranians have been fighting Russians and defending their country so hard for the last 30 months but yet they still can not get the help and weapons on time which would allow Ukraine to push out all Russian soldiers from their country back into Moscow. If these restrictions were lifted i believe that Ukraine would have not even needed to send Ukranian forces into Kursk. What is America waiting for? It seems they do not want Ukraine to defeat Russian soldiers in Ukraine fully but instead give them just enough help to hold these current front lines. I actually heard some American analysts say that America does not want Putin fully defeated in Ukraine because then Russian oligarchs and elites would overthrow Putin from power in the Kremlin and America is afraid that whoever takes control as the next Russian President could be far worse than Putin. This is idiocy and madness. The quicker Ukraine gets the weapons it needs and the ability to fire American long range missles on targets deep inside Russia the sooner we will see a Ukranian victory where Ukraine can liberate Crimea , the Donbas regions , all of the regions currently occupied by Russian forces , and destroy Putin's Kerch bridge and the less people on both sides will have to needlessly die. America has and will continue to have innocent Ukranian blood on its hands if it continues with its current policy on Ukraine. I'm one who thought that NATO forces should have declared a no fly zone over all of Ukraine just days after Putin started his illegal invasion war in Ukraine. At each red line Putin has bluffed with his threats to use nukes. First it was Putin may use his nukes if the west gives Ukraine Javalens...then it was American tanks , then American Patriot defense systems , then F-16 fighter jets from EU countries , and now its if America lifts their restrictions on Ukraine to send long range missles deep into Russia. At every turn Putin warned you better not do that or we will use our nukes. Each time what happened? Nothing! Its because the Russian doctrine and policy on using their nukes is only for when an invading country and its forces have entered Russia and is close to overthrowing the Russian leadership inside the Kremlin in Moscow. If Russia's government is about to be toppled only then can Russian nukes be authorized for use. America knows this but yet still act as if other Russian red lines can not and must not be crossed. Smh. Ukraine has suffered enough i say and still stand up strong to Russian aggression. They are the frontlines protecting all of Europe from a Russian invasion. And the west ...America...Europe pay Ukraine back by standing on the side lines waiting....hesitating...using only words like..." we strongly condemn Russia and Putin's latest barbaric attack on Ukraine..." ??? Words? Let me tell you....Putin will not be stopped by words. Ukraine knows this and the Baltic states know this. Putin will only be stopped by force. That is the only language Putin understands! The longer the west and America holds back the more that other dictators , authortarian leaders , and totalitarian leaders of the world grow in confidence that America and the west are weak and that they can get away with invading another country just like Putin has. Smh America wake the F up!!!!!!!

It is best to get a Russian, not a Ukrainian, to discuss Russia's red lines. Ukraine is drowning and the Ukrainian seeks to take others down with him. Ukraine sees its only option is to drag the west into a direct war. At the end of the day, Russia has nuclear weapons and its doctrine says it will use them if faced with a strategic defeat. And as Lavrov said, the Americans should not imagine that if it goes nuclear, it will not just Ukraine and Europe will go, and America won't be untouched. America being the chief prosecutor of the war has to go as well.

A lawyer I meet in Kyiv Ukraine told me Ukraine has demonstrated they can reach Russia practically anywhere. If Russia decided to use nuclear weapon on Ukraine, Ukraine would be able to do damage where it counts. Having that said, as a citizen of the USA, I think president Biden's responsibility is the American people. So, why would the American champion escalation? I am afraid freedom to think is a very high price and no one is going to pay in blood for other's freedom unless the Americans themselves are attacked. That is how rational democracy thinks as far as I can tell. Unless we elect narcissist sociopath with unlimited ambition and no moral bottom line like Putin as president of USA, then we Americans will behave like the Russians do.

Maybe take a page out of the book of your President Zelenskyy. He is currently in The Netherlands where he is dealing with their new big man who could be arguably described as a tRump light. Their previous prime minister was sent packing, to be replaced by a right wing populist who is a lot more critical about the aid to Ukraina. So does your President Zelenskyy call the Dutch and by extension their politicians cowards? No. For a comedian who became a successful businesman who became a well respected politician and President he does not do so. He talks about the common ground, thanks for help received among others with housing Ukrainian refugees, F16's and a quite considerable amount of money that reaches Ukraina via the common EU funding but ultimately from the Dutch taxpayer. Nowhere does he use the word 'cowards'. I have no idea what your Presidents travel plans are. Belgium? New government in the making, by a separatist party no less. France? New government in the making, they barely escaped being saddled with extreme right National Front. The UK? They just got a new government that is still very much finding their way in the mess that the right left them with. Germany? They have the extreme right gaining ground in the former east Germany that is still way behind the former west Germany and are wondering why all the aid goes to Ukraina. The US? Voting in november and it's touch an go if they get tRump back. Nothing is to be gained by calling their politicians and by extension their voters cowards. Your President knows how to as they say 'extract a maximum of milk with a minimum of moo'. It's not for nothing HE is the President.
