Technically speaking, once the capsule released its air the team already got most of the data they need. Jared Isaacman, is the one who actually funded the venture! But also had a lot to do with the suit design, testing and commissioning. This is actually his second trip to space! He in conjunction with SpaceX, have achieved goals that have eluded NASA. But it wasn't just about the suits, ground breaking as they are. The space capsule was modified for the mission as well. The Dragon capsule even made an orbit 1400 km out. But the mission was about collecting data and experience to review and for future missions! NASA has spent billions on designing a new eva suit, and currently is on hold because the contractor has withdrawn! Starliner by Boeing was supposed to be the crew module for NASA, but that is highly expensive and still unproven. The new rockets by all parties still haven't made it to space, apart from SpaceX, Even Starship has made it to space. Let alone the number of launches that SpaceX has achieved this year alone. Plus the ridiculous low cost in comparison to everyone else!
