Why not just ask the French/US/South Korea nuclear plants providers for some costing estimates instead of politicians just rambling on rubbish ? Oh...wait till after next Federal election late 2025 then..... Albo Govt are only into renewables.

The Wind and Solar is an ongoing cost, there BS is outstanding. Weβre in world has Nuclear energy raised power cost? The cost of nuclear is known fact, it decreases bills. The BS about hasnβt been done here, we arenβt a remote unique country, we have our own uranium. Itβs a kettle, 80% of power station is exactly same as coal one. Take subsidies off wind/solar and see the difference, you pay tax funding subsidies, you for power and you bought the asset.

Dutton is not fit to run a chook raffle, let alone Australia as it adapts to the challenges of climate change and all its attendent problems.

There's going to be a lot of anti-nuclear propaganda from the renewables zealots. Of course Nuclear will be more expensive in the short term, because the plants have to be built from scratch. Long term though, the vastly superior efficiency of nuclear plants will make nuclear energy much cheaper to operate at peak power 24/7

<<@gregorymcleod
says :
Assistant energy Minister is just speaking rubbish. Wind and Solar need generation units built every 25-30 years. They are not renewal. Yes the wind and Sun is renewalable. But that does not generate power with out the turbines and solar panels. I agree with Josh keep a open mind and until Labor and the renewals can fully cost the Grid and storage over entire life of a Nuclear power plant stop the scare campaign. It just makes them look stupid. A all types of power is needed. If you look overseas Nuclear power plants. Produce constant reliable power and matching its output to industry is key. Nuclear power stations can also be used to produce Hydrogen and run desalination plants. So how the power is used is key. But to say it will drive prices up is like me saying the unreliability of solar and wind will drive all manufacturing offshore. It does not truly represent the out come people want and have elected Governments to provide. I believe the current Government rushed plan is overlooking key grid stability and allowing Households and business to transition at a more reliable grid. If you look at Labor energy plan it has no out come to get to 2050 net zero as Gas produces CO2 you turn off gass and you have no firming and grid will only last as long as batteries can keep it up so a renewals drought with out gas or Nuclear has no 2050 Net zero. Facts hurt.
