<<@mikespike2099 says : Fking took their time .. Australian regulators are asleep at the wheel or too busy having Welcome to Country and Diversity days!>> <<@Kelly-oe8kr says : Any fines will be used as justification to raise prices. Consumers will pay their fines>> <<@boothy72ify says : Too little, too late. Just another desperate measure by Elbo's sinking ship.>> <<@craiglist879 says : If you're a regular Coles or Woolworths shopper, then you must have known about this scam. Half price products, really? Who buys these products when they are full price? I hope they get the book thrown at them. Yesterday I was using a self-checkout and the "assistant' pointed out the new way to scan fruit and veg. I felt I was in a training session. WTF? Then there's the products that are wrongly priced.....I check everything. I usually have to remind the "assistant' of their policy regarding wrongly priced items. The staff member usually tries to just change the price to the correct price when the item should now be free. I can't wait for the new ALDI store opening near me in a couple of months.>> <<@IDontTalkToCops says : BOYCOTT COLES AND WOOLWORTHS!!!>> <<@davidhamtaro says : Buy from Aldi. Easy.>> <<@iamasmurf1122 says : My stock price has hardly done anything .. most likely because it’s a non sensical law suit … nothing illegal about it … I should note as well … Woolworths is owned by 70% of the Australian public .. the other stockholders are large companies .. so essentially what they are doing is talking the Australian public to court normal mums & dad investors … as well coles is owned largely by the public of around 70% ownership>> <<@Geronimo-fv4pv says : Don’t really understand how this is wrong legally. Like the Xbox SX was $749 at launch then went up to $799. Now when it drops to $749 it’s considered a sale, even though that was the original price. So doesn’t every store do this? What about things going up due to inflation then having “sale” prices that are higher than the previous year regular price?>> <<@Discoworx says : Why is it only now that the Accc is doing something about it?>> <<@Fire.4Effect says : How much money will the team of silks cost tax-payers? Because the cost of silks for Woolies and Coles will be added to grocery prices>> <<@jjjxoxoxo says : ACCC is bullshit. The reason prices are up is because of the Labor governments spending.>> <<@johnwoodrow8769 says : Pure political stunt by an agency of the Labor government to try and blame inflation on the supermarkets rather than the governments reckless spending. Where I live there is a mountain of competition within walking distance e.g. Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, 3 IGA's, several independent butchers, fruit shops, and bakers.>> <<@Psittacine-pp5yd says : They are ripping off customers they gouge us all and treat farmers badly too much power and too greedy.>> <<@oldnutta7611 says : This is utter crap, all businesses do this.>> <<@dominicpelle7841 says : WELL DONE ALBO *On 25 January 2024, the Australian Government announced that it will direct the ACCC to conduct an inquiry into Australia's supermarket sector. **Anthony Albanese has offered to give the competition watchdog extra powers to combat price gouging, after comments from the regulator suggesting it could sue* 👍👍👍>>
