That money is actually ours and the government seems to think it’s just money laying around not being used for anything! As of last year the age group 54-72 made up 53% of the population. I don’t think they should have gone as low as 54 because you aren’t considered a senior until age 55 but no matter. That group is still considered part of the workforce. We are the first generation to experience prosperity not previously seen in older generations. Our generation enrolled in college causing us to be the first group to be better educated. The 1960,s through the 70’s brought about huge cultural changes which were brought about by Boomers. The technological advances, which changed the way we accessed consumer goods, reshaped how we live and work. Ours is the generation most likely to say we watch TV (32%). Our numbers on other activities are significant as well: Movies: 22% Amusement parks or rec centers (21%}) Concerts (20%) Unfortunately the pandemic has caused people to feel less financially secure but regardless we still have tremendous buying power marking us as being a key demographic for businesses. Our buying power is expected to increase in the coming years impacting various industries .
