Consider that you're not being thought of as a general, judge, or CEO, but as a stereotype in the back of someone's mind who suddenly decided that you're an acceptable option when held next to someone who would actively destroy everything this country's citizens need to survive. Imagine that a white woman would happily allow herself to be owned rather than vote for you, simply because you're black. Does that seem absurd to you? Don't you think we should be working together to prevent a repeat of the 19th century?
