About elections; several years ago, I decided to become more involved in our State elections in Victoria and volunteered to be a scrutineer. It only took one such experience to see that if someone wants to steal an election in this State, only ONE PERSON needs to be co-opted; the AEC official with whom rests the final say in how a vote is counted. In several cases where ballot papers were wrongly assigned (and none of them involved the person I was representing as a scrutineer) I saw the AEC official (ONE PERSON! make a decision and that was trhe end of the discussion. DO NOT let anyone tell you that elections can’t be rigged in Australia!
