If your government needs to think about this, then you as parents have failed.. you failed with your parenting skills and your Voting... your government is completely out of control..

This isn't about stopping kids using social media. It's about making digital ID mandatory by stealth on every Australian citizen. Then slowly over time we will be made to use it on other things more and more.

I don’t think government interference in anything is a good idea. If parents don’t want their under 16s on social media then the parents should take control. We don’t need more government control in our lives, we need less. What we do need is government empowering parents to be the masters of their own families by butting out of things that do not concern them.

As a grandparent, this is an issue for parents and not for the government to intervene in. Banning children from social media is utterly useless unless there is a total overhaul of the wokeism that is endemic in the education system. The current effects of our education system is far more dangerous than any social media problems. Parents can control social media access, they have far more difficulties in intervening in the education system.

Government taking over the parenting of children is a very bad thing.

<<@o7Bones

I think there should be an exception clause where the parent/parents legally allows their child access to social media. it's less like taking away a questionable object or substance and more like refusing them access to a public park!

Just like under 18's can't drink, like under 16's can't have sex, like under 18's can't smoke. How can it ever be enforced? Parents will create accounts for their kids and how will the authorities be able to stop them? IMO, it's just a knee jerk reaction based on a few bad occurrences and the majority that used it responsibly are legislated from accessing it.
