The major technology was supposed to be a stealth fighter deployed across a wide area with datalink technology enabling it to receive targeting info from airborne warning / control aircraft to the new long-range air-to-air missiles carried by the SU-57 to shoot down any planes sortied by the ukrainians, especially the F-16's.
