Those who deserve a 30% pay rise are the nurses. It's ridiculous how they are the last line of defence during the pandemic, putting their life at risk, compared to the shitty salary they are getting.

Worst train strike in living memory? I can recall strikes that dragged on for more than week. These were only 40 years ago, so there will be commuters inconvenienced this week who were caught up in them. There might also be striking drivers who were on strike back then. The media are a bunch of goldfish.

<<@cze33e

How about a 32% increase in the quality of service provided by Sydney Trains over 3 years? This is easily measurable and if achieved, then start to talk about a pay rise.

<<@fallingdown4958

INDUSTRIAL TERRORISIM NO WAY! Terrorism is the threat or use of violence to intimidate or coerce in the pursuit of political or ideological goals. It is usually understood to be done by non-state actors — individuals or organizations not part of the government. So no this isn’t terrorism but this is fear mongering. But what’s the bet you’ll just delete this comment because it’s not aligning with what you guys say

<<@emranshafi

Sydney train stuff will go on strike if the government doesn’t allow to run trains 24 hours cycle from Thursday to Sunday night, get your facts straight Shadow. Union said that several times, let them run or they will refuse to work.

Ronald Reagan fired all the air traffic control operator's when they went on strike back in the 1980s. It was hilarious 😂. They didnt see that coming. Your country should try that if things haven't been totally poofed out there.

And did the train lines increase their prices over the past few years? I’m betting yes. And I’m betting they didn’t increase the wages of their workers. Capitalising on the inflation, increasing cost of living for everyone at every point you turn (housing, fuel, clothing, food, even the bloody train lines). And we are just going to let them profit while their workers also feel the brunt of this inflation? Absolutely appalling and I hope their workers get every cent. This is why the government should own all public transport services so funds are directed back into the Australian economy.
