It’s not that optimistic hegemonic US would tune down its stance against China as US gullible political leaders still miserably think that it’s due to US’s help that China can be what she is today. They hv forgotten that they needed China’s help to counter Soviet Union in 1970s when they were bogged down in Vietnam War, they needed China’s help to start a peace talk. No one forced Dr. Kissinger to secretly visit China nor later, Pres Nixon’s trip to China. As for WTO, China owes nothing to US as US was then eyeing the huge Chinese markets, hence MacDonald, KFC, Ford and some European big names like Mercedes, BMW etc etc flocked into China and made huge profits. Trump would invariably bring back high inflation back to US once he imposes high tariffs on Chinese imports esp cheap and good consumer products which were originally produced for d poor Chinese but are now being welcomed all over d world.
