In Australia, major supermarkets 'banned' plastic bags for a time to 'sAvE tHe eNviRoNmEnT" which got the environmentalists all wet and alot of other people pissed off, so they 'reintroduced' the plastic bags but at 10 cents a bag as a way to 'keep people happy' while 'discouraging' them from using plastic bags by charging for them. I used alot of quotation marks because that was the plan all along, to pretend to give a shit about the environment while simultaneously preventing losses from giving people free plastic bags. It was a perfectly executed genius move that still goes over most Australian's heads today. Supermarkets really pulled a fast one on them.

Yes, because those costly thick bags, you have to now buy at a dollar plus a pop, are so hygienic, clean and don't breed cockroaches at all! Back to paper bags then? Oh wait, they were murdering the trees, but that is okay now, right? This is why the government, should NEVER pay advisers, who claim to be environmentalists, because they are never for the environment, but are just mental.
