Oh please! Here we go again, beating around the bush once more. It's quite simple. yes or no? The people are over the BS of Net Zero, climate change and renewables. Smr's although suitable, do not fit fit in our mind set or culture! As a country we need to look to what Finland has accomplished, and at least put their ambitions into perspective. Their latest is a 1600Mw nuclear power generator, gee it would be nice to have that amount of power, from one reactor mind you! They announced they will pursue a secondary unit of the same capability. This level of power cannot be ignored any longer, no matter how much money the labor party wishes to waste on their mind blowing dreams. And that is what it is, a dream! At present there is enough time to implement nuclear before the domestic market has to start replacing solar panels and batteries, let alone how many wind turbine blades that will be required! I for one, being exposed to weapons grade uranium(in Australia), do not feel frightened.

Coalition would be better placed simply to advocate for the removal of the foolish nuclear ban, simplify environmental controls for small area power generation and make it harder for large area generation, such as solar and wind...the owners of which would have to provide continuous clean power to be able to sell to the grid and so have to look after their own backup and voltage management. Then let the market operate. New HELE units in the short term and appropriate nuclear if the market wants to in the longer term. Governments picking winners in the market is a recipe for disaster. On which, over to you Albo.

Nuclear is not zero co2 15-50 Grams / KwH x 1G = An open-ended checkbook for something that is not variable, besides that you just can not have one. Nuclear can only supply the same of power as coal. 1G. You will need about 4 just for vic alone. Nuclear can not work with solar and wind because it is not variable. Exactly no better than we have now. Power prices can not come down while we still operate coal power because it is not variable for short notice.

I wish the coalition would stop fiddling on the edges and comm\e out and clearly state their policy. Wind and solar are failing us. Zero emissions is a foolishness because Australia makes no difference toCO2, the very gas of life. The coalition should come out and state the truth about CO2 and how its benefit is far greater than any possible unproven concerns.

The Coalition must maintain the push towards nuclear technologies to bring stable 25/7 reliable power must be maintained It's up to the Coalition to unite on this and push education programs to overcome the false propaganda that Nuclear is unsafe to Nuclear is the future for clean energy Australia cannot continue down the path that Solar and Wind can power a Nation it is humanly impossible and is propaganda and pushed by powerful vested interests via huge subsidies through our political system by the Greens and the Teals and in sections of the Labor Party Arguing that wind and solar are the cheapest is a meme employed by green lobbyists, activists and politicians around the world Renewable energy projects such as wind and solar will receive subsidies of up to $2.8 billion a year up to 2030 in an attempt to reach Labor's Renewable Energy Target.

There's no need to veto nuclear power. What people need is to be educated on how clean nuclear energy is. We should've done this in the 90's. All the Australian government has done is hold back our potential so other countries can profit from us. It's time for that to reverse. Vote me King of Australia & we'll be building a hotel on the moon in 20 years.

Bring on cheap zero emissions energy security. Put one in my backyard if you like. No worries. Thereβs hundreds of the bloody things all around the world. Has been for years. The techs evolved way beyond the any safety concerns and new tech reuses the waste until itβs storage time is reduced to bugger all. All countries that have tried 100% renewables have ended up in poverty ruined the country side devastated natural habitat commited economic suicide vs those with nuclear in the mix have prospered. There is no future for Australia that doesnβt include nuclear in the energy mix. Even from a defence point of view how can we have nuclear submarines that we canβt maintain? We need a nuclear industry. It has to happen. Once it does Australians will have cheaper power bills and industry will return and thrive. It will also assist our farmers to keep their productive land and prevent the devastation of vast areas of natural Australian bush. ππππ¦πΊ

Net Zero was always an oxymoron. CH4, H20 and CO2 are the first 3 compound molecules created inside the Sun in that order, and are the molecules that are the basis of all organic carbon life found throughout the universe and on Earth. Coal. oil, methane, wind, solar, hydro, tidal, geothermal, and even Nuclear are all energy forms created by the Sun, and are all forms of Solar Energy, all freely available for humans to use in order to improve everyone's standard of living. You are being scammed by ideologues who have little understanding of science or even how Nature works but who understand the power of fear, and the confusion of ignorance.

at this stage it would be nieve to rule out large nuclear . This is the difference between the Liberal party & a labour party . The liberal party do there homework. Then based on the cost the affect on community & habitat etc basically study everything they need to understand nuclear power construction. The labour party just have a idea & hand out money without looking at all of the options to see wich is the most beneficial for Australia & achieve a energy supply the meets Australian requirement need

Nuclear proposal is a massive liability for the Coalition. It's like they've drawn a big political target on themselves for the next election. Renewables and batteries will be even cheaper by next year and then the nuclear idea just looks silly. Far better for LNP to attack Labor's poor rollout of renewables, which has been a top down approach, where they should be allowing citizens near to areas hosting large scale renewables to become shareholders and direct beneficiaries of projects.
