Ellie Honig is an idiot. It’s not the prosecutions job to defend Trump, that’s the defense’s job. It’s the same kind of crap Todd Blanche tried to pull when asked why he didn’t call Allen Weisselberg and “said it’s now our job to fill the holes in the prosecution’s case. The prosecutor should have subpoenaed him.” That’s just not true and it’s also completely stupid and bad lawyering on his part. Again it’s the prosecutions job to do everything within the law to convict him. If that means trying to word the jury instructions in a way that will make it easier to convict the defendant that’s what you should do. It’s the defenses job to object and argue a way to word it in a way that would make the vote to acquit Trump.
The Allen Weisselberg thing is even dumber. If the prosecution believes Weisselberg wouldn’t help them convict Trump, because I don’t know, maybe it was because he’s already committed perjury multiple times for Trump and has gone to jail multiple times for protecting Trump. It’s almost guaranteed he would lie and say anything to help Trump. So if they thought he would be a negative impact to the case and they feel like they have enough already to convict Trump, and if they thought there wouldn’t be any upside only downside, why would they want him to testify? On the other hand if Blanche thought if Weisselberg would have testified they would have probably won as he’s said multiple time, he should have called him to the stand. All of this crap is ridiculous, it’s not the prosecution’s job to help Blanche to defend his client. If he felt that strongly about it, whether he thought it was the prosecution’s job to or to not call an incriminating witness, he should have called Weisselberg himself to testify. The whole concept is absurd, and it’s crazy anyone is saying that especially Blanche and Honig.

He is misrepresenting the argument, Trump broke multiple crimes, the jury does not have to agree which crime, only that a crime was committed in addition to the election interference. They could agree he broke all three, or they could agree he broke only one, they just don't have to agree on which one.
He made it sound as though they did not have to prove (a) crime, when in truth Trump has provided a cornucopia of options.
