Treasurer Jim Chalmers says the choices the new Labor government make are constrained by the 'inherited' trillion dollar debt.
'The reason for that is because the Shadow Treasurer and all of these colleagues arraigned before us on the shadow frontbench, the dregs of the former Liberal government, have left us with these challenges,' Mr Chalmers said during Question Time on Thursday.
He said the best thing the Opposition can do is instead of railing with 'fake indignation,' do the right thing by coming together to fix the 'mess' the government has inherited.
