Right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones filed for personal Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in a Texas court, according to court documents.
In the documents, Jones estimates his assets to be worth between $1 to 10 million, and his liabilities to be between $1 to $10 billion. The Infowars host's primary company, Free Speech Systems, also filed for bankruptcy protection in July.
Jones' personal filing comes after he lost a bid in Texas to reduce the nearly $50 million damages award handed down by a jury earlier this year over his false claims about the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre.

Those of you who talk about freedom of speech related to this incident need to move to another country, like Putin’s Russia. Alex Jones ruined many people’s lives over his crisis actor assertion. What he did was reckless and morally bankrupt. Not one iota of what he said is true.

The families don't have to do the legwork. The bankruptcy trustee assigned to the case gets a cut out of all the funds that make up the estate to be distributed to creditors. This is a big case and the Trustee has a team of lawyers who will find all Jones' assets to distribute to creditors, minus his cut. So, they are motivated. They can void any transactions that took place within a prescribed time frame, in an effort to hide funds and simply confiscate them, through court proceedings. Jones is screwed. Bankruptcy will not save him any money.
