NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard has warned residents to get vaccinated because "we're all going to get Omicron".
"There is no question that vaccinations, particularly once you have the booster, will empower you to meet the oncoming Omicron variant of this coronavirus," Mr Hazzard told a media conference on Sunday.
"Bottom line here is that we would expect that pretty well everybody in New South Wales at some point will get Omicron.
"If we're all going to get Omicron, the best way to face it is when we have full vaccination including our booster."

I am sure that this number is low but nonetheless in the past 2 years only 1.2 percent of the Australian population have experienced Covid 19. Omicron will prove to be a blessing in disguise. Omicron is replacing the more dangerous Delta, is spreading very rapidly, but can evade the vax. What the vax, double vax and booster do is promote protection against serious illness, hospitalisation and death. (Prior infection by Covid is even better) The stats from South Africa and UK do not lie. They actually inform us of our future.
Protect yourself and your family. Get vaxed and boosted. It is the best you can do.
What our Governments are doing in promoting vax and boosters is simply to "flatten the curve" and give our hospitals a chance to provide superior health care to those who actually need it, without being overwhelmed by an Omicron peak. Simple as that!

Getting Omicron will provide considerable protection against a future variant.
