Around half of those caught up in Sydney testing blunder positive for COVID
Hundreds of Sydney residents have been told they are actually positive for COVID-19 after being caught up in the latest testing bungle. It comes after 950 people were sent a text message on Boxing Day which said they were negative for COVID-19 when half were actually positive for the virus. The pathology involved, SydPath, has issued a statement apologising for the error and acknowledging the impact on all those involved. 'In order to maintain the quality of our testing, we are reducing the number of COVID tests we process to ensure the volume remains within our capacity,' the statement said.
