A third-grader in Indiana in the United States has made a "Buddy Bench" for people who are feeling alone or have no one to play with.
Zachary Green appeared as a guest on WAVE Country after his mother wrote a letter to WAVE 3 News explaining his efforts to make the bench.
Kellum Imprints and Printing in Ramsey, Indiana told Zachary it could make the bench but it would take 250 pounds - around 113 kilograms - of small plastic lids and tops which would be melted down.
After WAVE 3 News put out a call, Zachary not only collected enough lids and tops to make the bench, but managed to make a second to provide to another school and may also have enough for a third bench.

I tried this a few yrs back. Most of the kids stared and talked about me. Finally after a couple hrs some new buddies started showing up but they were older then my dad. One of them said he had to hurry because he wasn’t suppose to be so close to an elementary school. He said he just followed the rainbow , whatever that means!

He is a kind hearted kid however I believe the concept is flawed. It puts a big target on any kid that sits on it. “ pick on me , I’m weak and have no friends or social skills. “. Kids need to learn to overcome fear and fight back at bullies. Having a fight on the playground used to be a normal right of passage for kids. Not any more.
