Tennis star Novak Djokovic is yet to withdraw from the ATP Cup days out from the tournament - despite not making his vaccine status known.
Tennis Australia hopes he will take part - however reports indicate his involvement may be unlikely.
The world number 1 is yet to travel to Australia - but is scheduled to play Norway's Casper Ruud on January 1.

Much respect to Novak for standing his ground and keeping his vaccination status private. He shouldn't be forced to comply by a foreign government, a negative COVID test should be enough to allow him entry. Ironic the Open is going ahead with thousands of daily cases yet there was a snap lockdown with spectators evicted for a handful of cases last January.

The right thing to do for Novak is to withdraw from the Australian Open (and take the financial hit) and for spectators to also boycott the tournament in protest against vaccine passports.

I think Novac probably stopped caring about the ATP around 400 million dollars ago. He certainly doesnt need them . Its them that are making us miss out on seeing probably the greatest player to ever lace on a sandshoe. Over a flu that he has already had and now has natural immunity .
