Blinken is tasked with maintaining relationship with China so that conflict doesn’t boil over
Joe called Xi a dictator (rightfully so) which Xi now uses as an excuse not to go along with US, and now Blinken needs to do damage control
Basically what happened is that Blinken just got handed of a stack of work on his desk by Joe, on a Friday before the weekend (Figuratively)
I’m sure we would all have the same reaction no matter how important the work was
