Grindavik is crossed in its center by the Mid-atlantic ridge where tow tectonic plates grind together. The east of the town is above the Eurasian plate while the western side is above the american plate. This is and always was a volcanic danger zone. Hope that in the end the damage will be limited, The town was evacuated last week and no one will go back home in the forseable future. My heart is with the affected people and i wish them luck.
