Yes i believe people should be forced into getting help. No ifs buts or maybe. Im dealing with a family member with a alcohol problem etc I have no support from any family members an do not have anyone who can come take him to rehab. It doesnt matter if i cry " yell show love it does nothing this is why someone needs to be in power to take over. If these people cant contribute to society then they should be forced into getting the help they need. Stop making excuses, till you have to deal with this yourself then you dont understand.

This would give any government the opportunity to summarily declare any individual mentally troubled and in need of their prescribed treatment at a government re-education facility. The thought police have arrived.
@LewisHosie Says:
There is a mechanism in NSW and Victorian law called a Community Treatment Order (CTO). When someone with a history of non-treatment-compliance and relapse repeatedly ends up deteriorating, a hospital can ask the Mental Health Tribunal to make a legal order compelling the person to receive treatment when they are discharged. They must then see a psychiatrist weekly or be recalled to hospital. In other words: yes, people with "mental disorders" *are* being forced to undergo treatment. This was already the case. There are a bunch of problems with this process, but it is not a new one. It has been around for many decades. We can argue that the process should have been applied more readily here, but this video revolves around whether we should create a mechanism that already exists. The statements that treatment is "readily available" and "affordable" are frankly offensive. The people creating this video would have known all of this perfectly well. They are being deceptive.

Psychiatrists and psychologists are morons, the Judas priests of the medical world. They have no idea, their drugs seldom work and they just push drugs with awful side affects!
@TruthWarrior1 Says:
Albo can afford it and with the delusions of grandeur he has going on and the position he holds he is an extreme danger to the public. IMO
@Gungho1a Says:
Detention and treatment is for the safety of the person and SAFETY OF THE PUBLIC. Thats a statement in every state's mental health legislation. Until a few practitioners get held to account for enabling these murders to happen, then we will keep seeing them happen. Dig around and see how many people on detention orders abscond from hospitals, its thousand per year nationally.

If he had a job, could afford housing, enough money to pay all living expenses, a loving family of his own & supporting extended families, living in a society without hatred, without discrimination, many mental illnesses will be resolved.
@Mr.J.Cricket Says:
Grubberment will use this tragedy to bring about hate crime laws and facial recognition

Treatment?! You have already been doing that for years, so clearly thats not the solution ;)

Sadly,I will disagree with her on the help for this on the public system. Private is too expensive and ridiculous" . Families who are not wealthy have a terrible time trying to seek mental health help for their loved ones. Waiting list and a lack of funding reduces help. Families struggling to get the help are tired of nowhere to turn. Unfortunately she failed to say that. Public system was starting to shut down since the 80s and for too long funding reduces constantly by all states and sadly this also is the result because nobody is checking on them. Yes mentally ill people when medicated properly start to feel better and yes they feel like they don't need medical intervention anymore. But unfortunately this is part of the illnesses" and they do this . Definitely must be more intervention and frequently having check ups. Because this is what can occur when left to their own. Families have a terrible time trying to keep them well.

This stuff pisses me off. Honestly, ge felt better because his medication was working not because he was cured. If a person can not understand that, they need someone who knows better than them to explain that to them! This is ridiculous

Clare Rowe is delusional if she thinks mental health care is readily available to all Australians. She is either extremely naive or deliberately lying for some reason.

Schizophrenia meds cause schizophrenia. Psychiatric drugs cause supposed psychiatric disorders. Big pharma is a business. Mass psychosis is the media propaganda to divide us and dumb us down. Free speech is about to go, refer to Julian Assange and Jordan Peterson. You need to believe in yourself and research for yourself before common sense is thrown out as misinformation. This is info wars. This is gaslighting.

What a load of rubbish - from a family members experience through the public system - a person on a disability pension trying to get an updated diagnosis on GP’s request/ first session free- next session around $400 and third session $900 a session …. And yes he was on a disability pension … wait was minimum 6 months . Do t get me started on how many people are on these addictive mind altering toxic drugs who don’t need to be and when they stop taking them that in inself will create psychotic episodes .

How about the group of teenagers running rampant in a shopping centre at Melton Victoria on Monday afternoon. Running around with machetes and knives. No mention of that.
@70Dazky Says:
Cannabis does not cause psychiatric disorders (fact) legalization does not advocate consumption of cannabis under the age of 18 (fact) under current laws the illegal cannabis market (dealers , Asian crime gangs , outlaw Bike gangs) makes cannabis freely available to children of all ages (fact) . Should people with schizophrenia use cannabis , absolutely not but you can not stop them doing it now under current laws so cannabis decriminalization would not make a blind difference. what is with sky's crusade against cannabis? A safe recreational drug with minimal problematic use compared to Alcohol. Present the news sky and stop pushing lies, your just the same as Chinese or Russian state tv. disgraceful

We have been completely disarmed and our rights to defend ourselves diminished and that is why these types of crimes are on the rise. Criminals know that we can't defend ourselves. The governments response is to take away more of our rights.

Mental health is failing the people,money thrown into a pit that has no answers.One main issue that the medie never brings up is the illegal drugs involved in that persons life and history. Mental health has increased since the normalisation of ice,speed,meth and drug rehab centres placed around our schools and public areas.its not cannibas SKY its all the other drugs that have been normalised.
@Aries-n3v Says:
Australians are criminally insane They would use psychologist to imprison you for personal gain Energy harvesters
@LeaMumof3 Says:
We need residential assylums bought back. We certainly need to differentiate between those that are dangerous and those that just need care and support to live their life. It was a poor decision to release those with severe psychiatric disorders into the community to terrorise their families. I'm in groups with parents that fear for their loves daily. They cannot get support.

Everything is mental disorder today -- the need to sell medications has caused it so now there is no difference between someone going nuts from lack of sleep or someone in need of constant care... how about other RECREATIONAL drugs that are taken by the idiots tiday like ketamine cocaine halucinogenics party drugs ... half of the country is drugged out on friday night
@minkaalagich5990 Says:
The problem in our country is that mental health isnt treated as a disability. Its actually relegated to police, that have to make mental health assessments and decisions in regards to a mentally ill persons well being???? Why??? How???? I have a sister who lives in Sydney, is in her mid 50s was diagnosed with schizophrenia a few years back. Only when she barricaded herself in my late parents home and refused to talk or let the police into the residence. Mind you they had been called 3xtimes prior but because she had let them in and conversed with them ,all is ok and they leave........ She was plaved on a court order to have her meds administered by her GP not a mental health professional? She was good for 2-3years, her GP had retired and my sister convinced the new replacement that she was fine and took her off the meds! Without any of her family's knowledge, legally she is a functioning adult..... So in the past 9xmonths, she has totally isolated herself, weve had the police do a welfare check. We are told, shes ok and doesnt want any contact with her family. This process will be repeated until she stops letting the pplice in. Where are the mental health professionals in all of this??????? Its only when she gets bought in by the police (arrested, cuffed, driven to the hospital in a paddy wagon) to the mental health ward in the local hospital, that she will finally have contact with a professional psychologist and back to a court order! Just ludicrous!!!!! This time around she is in a rental not my parents home, what happens if she gets evicted, she has nowhere independent to go!!! What happened at Bondi is very symptomatic of the mental health system in Australia!!!! The police were aware of him because his elderly parents were the ones that would have initiated contact with the police for welfare checks cause that is the only procedure they can legally follow!!!!!! Madnessssss
@BobPsomiadis Says:
Rita just led the way and become a role model for these people ,that ongoing treatment is very important .You have a serious personality disorder ,maybe multiple personalities that have been deteriorating since your divorce .Yep, she loves making fun when her lefties get divorced ,but get own ,no discussion
@LovelyLass-nb8op Says:
If they're not compliant then they need to be in a mental health facility
@Aeoniik Says:
Make asylums great again
@onagoodday5557 Says:
It is far more likely that the meds cause the disturbance more than the illness. The side effects of the meds are horrific and likely led to this tragedy. Big pharma are a significant part of the problem
@KuriosDiogenesJar Says:
Be very wary of psychologists, especially this one gilding the lilly. Psychiatrists are far more switched on. We used to routinely put dangerously mentally ill people into supervised long term care. Following deinstitutionalisation in NSW and Victoria in the 1980's both States experienced a number of mass shootings. The man at the Lindt Cafe should not have been free. Psychotic people are often less in control of their behaviour than a three year old. Treating them as a person with an adult sense of responsibility is something that only a lunatic would advocate. That said most mentally ill people can be managed in community settings. I once rang the Queensland police about a man standing under a bridge next to a well travelled footpath. His pants and underpants were around his ankles. He was looking straight forward and constantly talking in a ritualistic manner. The Police told me that if they took him to the local hospital psychiatric unit, he would be walking down the front driveway, before they had completed the paperwork. The field of psychology is peppered with fakes, pretenders and crazies, who have convinced politicians to create this absurd situation. Get your mental health advice from a psychiatrist first, NOT a psychologist. This book is slightly dated, but will explain my attitude. This woman lives in a bubble! She obviously works in the private sector as she certainly has no idea how little services there are in public health! Hospitals with a mental healthward di have physiatric doctors employed but out side that most NSW mental health offices are run by nurses! There are some offices that have not had a resident phycologist for over a decade?
@sharonharvey1547 Says:
"...you can't force someone into treatment..." Wow, its like 2020 never happened.
@patriciarose6371 Says:
Until 1983 there were facilities at Gladesville that was shut down on whatever was trending then. After it was closed many patients were condemned to a homeless future , Noone to oversee their medication and welfare. Bondi was and is a tragedy BUT there is not one Leader bringing up the lack of funds to research Schysophenia , and hopefully this will be a wake up call. As for the abuse this man's parents are being subjected to, it can happen in any family. They need support not condemnation.

When I started my Ambulance career in Sydney in the late '80's, I was rapidly informed about "The Richmond Report" (& subsequent Act) & the hell it was causing; for us, the Police & community. (Get rid of the institutions & manage in the community.) Here we are 36 years later ...
@scottybrett2726 Says:
You are joking right 😂 Dear government. Have you been checked for mental illness?. Can the public force you to get treatment ? After all we employ you to look after thing's and it seems that you're struggling. Seems like the doo Doo's hitting the ceiling propeller to often and my fellow citizens feel it's for your own safety.
@dadandkids5028 Says:
The problem is that it is impossible to see a private psychiatrist. That makes the only option is to go to be committed to the mental health ward or be referred to a community psychiatrist. Good luck with that.
