I'm sure the Yellow River Valley/basin used to be just as fertile as the Mississippi River valley/basin in the United States. Due to thousands of years of farming, erosion, neglect and deterioration, it has lost a majority of its beauty and fertility. China needs a good thousand-years conservation plan, not a mere hundreds years plan, to bring the Yellow River valley back to its original condition.

Very impressive. I would like to know where the water is coming from for the reservoirs and to provide water to the growing saplings. Is the water derived from aquifers underlying the desert or from periodic rain or is the water pumped by way of pipelines?
