Ukraine's shortage of soldiers will require it to 1). take on more foreign "mercenaries", and 2) fight a much more technical war where technology is the primary force multiplier. Of course that requires providence of the requisite technologies in a manner that effectively determines the outcomes on the battlefield. Proving more decisively that Russian military technology is inferior and cannot achieve a major victory in the contemporary military theater of combat operations.

Peace at the price of giving the aggressor a degree of success? Just a few days ago Putin stated that he wants NATO troops to move out of Eastern Europe - BEFORE he is ready to start to negotiate with Ukraine.

It is difficult to see how Ukraine can negotiate with Russia, who is the aggressor. Why should the mugger's victim negotiate with the mugger about keeping his ill-gotten gains.
Justice demands that Russia returns all the Ukrainian territory it has stolen and occupied. The mugger must pay reparations for all the hurt and damage it has done to Ukraine.
Punti is unlikely to negotiate a just peace, as such an agreement would certainly endanger his position and life, as it would force Putin to take responsibility for close to a half a million dead russian soldiers.
