Abbott announced, when he outlined the LNP election strategy, he planned to use divisional issues like Nuclear power stations to divide the electorate, without necessarily Iever building any. All a big con.

Ha ha ha! So most countries in the world are dumb. According to Mr Chambers.
@ladislavtoman9327 Says:
What a dumb dill! I wander if he ever listens to that crap he is spewing. He should take a trip to Finland to learn something. Finland, a country of 5 million, with the land frozen for almost half a year, managed to build seven nuclear power stations, five of which are currently online. The last one was completed in April last year. After it was switched on line, power bills dropped by 30%! The nuclear power is Finland's cheaper power. Chalmers is talking through his arese...
@philipclift7205 Says:
People should not be allowed create their own electricity. They should have to buy it from licensed producers.
@Wombah-rc6zz Says:
Will Labor EVER STOP LYING!!!! "Fiscally irresponsible"? Is THIS coming from those buying 2nd hand nuclear subs that will be out of date when we receive them & will probably be sinkable by submersible drones costing only a few thousand dollars?
@markjohnston9017 Says:
Dumb, dumb, dumb, bloody stupid, mindless, train wreck of an energy policy this Labor government is putting forward with renewables.
@kymlevi2746 Says:
If nuclear is accepted labour and investors will loose billions.
@herbertvonsauerkrautunterh2513 Says:
He shouldn't be taking about others ideological stupidity. He's ideologically stupid number one. Nuclear is the way forward. It's a tried and tested power source that works. I'm sick off government to control everything. That's why I'm building up my wealth portfolio, taking money out to invest overseas and leaving... Going to where i will be treated a bit better with more freedom to move. Australians want politicians and government out of their lives. Not leadership
@walterolleroch94 Says:

@MrBoothdude Says:
This show is disingenuous. It complains about government subsidies to renewables, but is happy for the government to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on nuclear. It says "remove the ban on nuclear and let the market decide". The market already said it's not interested in nuclear because they can't make money at it. These guys all know that and it's the reason Dutton's policy is for the government to build and own it. No commercial entity will touch it. Typical hypocrisy rolled into one short talking head segment on Sky News.
@letmeexplain1816 Says:
Well of course, dim Jim is Albooo's little lap-dog. 😅
@stephengoldsbury4338 Says:
No Jim you are the dumbest thing ever put forward.
@andrewstratford9573 Says:
Got the solution....been in WA for the last 5 weeks, put all the wind turbines here cos she is a windy state, leave east coast untouched cos it's intermittent
@MichaelWilson-uj4rk Says:
Poor Chuckle Chalmers is beyond the pale
@goatlord7310 Says:
Yea, using nuclear is stupid and economically damaging. But subsidising solar panels for home owners and then 10 years later introducing a tax for home owners who have installed solar panels because the government was too stupid to think about upgrading the power grid to compensate for the amount of energy put back into the grid by home solar panels isn't going to damage cost of living or economy at all. God the Australian government are a bunch of fckn clowns.
@johnmccormick7120 Says:

@rogertribe5981 Says:
The problem with labor is that they are guttles , if was pm i would be pushing for nuclear power ,resource wise we are the best country in the world to have nuclear power .
@carlbrowarczyk6378 Says:

@stephenbarrett7064 Says:

@rayweh-bfa4966 Says:

@TimMountjoy-zy2fd Says:
Jim Chalmers is laughing a the Liberals putting up Nuclear. He thinks its a totally dumb idea and once we get into the subject so will the Australian public. Nuclear costs too much and takes too long being the problem. Well Jim has the world on his side. If Nuclear was a realistic option the world would not be spending 15 X the amount on Wind and Solar that it does on Nuclear. That tells the story of where the smart money is going. There is not a single Nuclear Plant in the world being built by private investment. That tells the story. So I expect Jim will be laughing all the way to an election while Dutton is trying to sell Australia a total Lemon.
@garyjohnstone6422 Says:
We must have base load to prosper. SMR reactors are the trend globally. 2/3rds of Americans are in favour of nuclear power and 20% of the power is already ex nuclear Nuclear does have an especially valuable trait in that it produces a steady stream of electrons without emitting greenhouse gasses, providing reliable baseload power. Safety is an overblown issue. How many deaths, a couple. Unlike conventional reactors, they don’t require any integration to the grid for safety, Nuclear is the largest source of clean power in the United States, generating more than 800 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity each year and producing more than half of the nation's emissions-free electricity. This avoids more than 470 million metric tons of carbon each year, which is the equivalent of removing 100 million cars off of the road. In 2019, nuclear plants operated at full power more than 93% of the time, making it the most reliable energy source on the power grid. Opposition to nuclear is ill informed and always from the Left. A leftover of the Cold War when they did Mother Russia`s bidding.
@damiengoss8382 Says:
Chalmers is living in a fantasy land. To say that going nuclear is dumb isn’t real debate. Nuclear will be far more efficient than renewables and far better for the environment / wildlife etc. Would love to have this debate with the Labor government.
@markspalding6092 Says:
Chalmers is a complete freak! He puts a whole new spin on arrogance & ignorance, and no jim, you & Albo are the dumbest duo to ever lead Australia, you pair are a national disgrace & embarrassment! This coming from a weak gutted child who cried & wet his pants in Rudds office! Fancy being scared of Rudd!
@claytonthiedecke469 Says:
David Littleproud, the grade 5 kid of parliament house, just watch him in action in parliament. He has just put his big boy pants on and said he is going to do something for his children and grandchildren... nuclear waste.
@danielmaher964 Says:
Littleproud is so onto it. We don't need more renewables production, we need more storage, and nuclear
@anthonydavidson1637 Says:
I'm a fitter in an underground coal mine....ofcourse shuttin down coal fired power stations will effect me. But I'm for nuclear if it reduces my power bills by 3/4's. This is not being discussed....grubby, creedy power companies would still rip you off.
@carolthorson7854 Says:
No Mr Chalmers, that would be the Trillions your spending on Green energy that does no meet our needs.

@stefanluke2771 Says:
Nuclear can be sourced here, can be run here. Renewables have to be purchased from China. An entire new set of gear every 20 or so years. There are 50 other reasons to use nuclear, but do you need to go past the first line?
@lstrabt Says:
Here's what I don't get, if it seems to work so well in overseas countries, why will it not work here, ??
