Just remember, all those alpine glaciers are only about 5,000 to 6,000 years old. They were reestablished during a period known as the Neoglaciation (Neopluvial) and that period ended about 1,000 years ago.
The science is black and white but people have been duped into believing in myths. "If we just stop driving SUVs, the alpine glaciers, the rains and pluvial lakes will return." Um, no they won't.

All other glaciers are melting already. Melt rates varies a lot, but more and more glaciers are melting more rapidly. We are losing mountain glaciers. And the fresh water they provide.
