So Matt expects us to generate 80% of our renewable energy from hydro then? After all he's holding up Costa Rica as the great example of 100% renewables but only 20% of that is wind or solar, the other 80% is all hydro. Either Matto is being willfully deceptive that this holds any answers for Australia or like Albo that salient fact wasn't on the first page of his briefing notes.
@edwardbec9844 Says:
Oh that the Climate emergency BS again Clown he does realize Australia has an ambundance of Natural Gas . to fill the gap between Nuclear coming on line .. Just Lift then Ban as that Queensland Labor Energy MP stated .. the renewable Lobby Don’t want real Competition in the Market place as Nuclear would Mop the Floor with them They don’t want to lift it then the renewable Energy Grifters would Lose all that Taxpayers Fund their BS Commune Power Systems stop funding their political campaigns .. socialist left anti nuclear talking points transition away from fossil fuels just stop oil mentality .he shouyld check his clothing labels .. synthetic fibers means oil .. women's stocking nylons .. derived from oil fossil fuels are the backbone of economic growth, China is increasing the Numbers of Coal fired as well as Nuclear Power plants .. you know to build those Nuclear Powered Submarines which needs reliable Power for Smelting Australian Iron Ore for steel Hull fabrications so they can sit off the coast of Australia what rot standing up for Australians what about our ADF .. being attacked by China net zero Silence .. too costly rot again Kepco Built 5.6 GW 4 APR 1400 Nuclear Reactors built in 12 years $AUD 34 Billion so 7 Nuclear Power will Cost $AUD 245 Billion how much is labors Renewable Holy Grail ?
@winstonsmith7801 Says:
Renewables =1.5 trillion , Nuclear 15 Billion. Which is too costly ?
@stancraigie601 Says:
"We all know that nuclear is more expensive than renewables", whaaaat? Try telling that to France, Canada, Finland, what an idiot!
@percythepeanuss.1426 Says:
This government does NOT consult with anyone.
@percythepeanuss.1426 Says:
Climate lies, lies and never ending lies. Vote these useless people out!!!!!!
@percythepeanuss.1426 Says:
The PM ignores Australians, garbage government, Labor is the worst government we’ve ever seen.
@wyatthurts1729 Says:
This renewable energy reminds me of that pink batts debacle 😂😂 labor cockh$@ds tripping over Fu3kheirds 😂😂
@stevewiles7132 Says:
Nothing comes free, all systems cost money, but the end result of 24/7 supply 365 days a year for many years to come is surely the important point.
@Peter-p5u8t Says:
1 trillion has been poured into renewables for unreliable power, great waste Labour 🤡🎪👍✅😳🤣divert that kind of money to real issues such as cost of living/ inflation
@emperordalektardis Says:
Still no costings. Dutton must be scared crapless of the reaction to what his nuclear policy is going to cost us.
@stancraigie601 Says:
How is Labor's policy effective ''NOW'' action on climate change (as if we can do anything about it). What about 20 years time when they it all needs replacing? Their renewables are the same cost as nuclear is now and it has to be all done again! Even if it took 20 years to establish nuclear it would be just in time to take over from the destructed renewables.
@meredithisme3752 Says:
Israel is smaller than us, Third World Pakistan manage it 😜
@biggestdaddycoach Says:
Net zero is total BS. Keep the coal fired stations. Nuclear is not dearer than subsidised green energy. The reporter should have asked for evidence. Poor questioning.
@biggestdaddycoach Says:
Assange is a journalist who exposed the US govt spying on its own people. What people did Wiki Leaks endanger?Name them. US Propaganda. Nuclear is too dear? BS. Stop the Snowy 2 black hole (and that doesn’t include the unspoken billions for wires) and the first will be built.

@Poorlineforeva Says:
Nuclear is small penis energy
@pacnbeans Says:
Let it be more costly, We need guaranteed secure power for the people and industry of Australia !! ALP GRUBS !
@YUDNSAY Says:
Ostrich thinking....
@mives02 Says:
So no base load security, 28k new transmission lines, pristine habitats over taken by panels and windmills? Yeah, seems legit.
@timwilson4684 Says:
Matt Thistlewaite another jumping to the Labor scare tactics - the only concept unreliable is renewables - how is it that all these Labor spokespersons keep saying that renewables are a strong action on climate change and it's occurring now - is it not the case that renewables are too costly , will take too long & haven't people's power bills gone up significantly already - if renewables are so much cheaper than nuclear then I would have expected my promised $275 reduction to my power bill a long time ago - on the question of vaping the government seems to think it's dangerous (and rightly so) for young people but they don't say possible blackouts because of their failed renewables to date are not dangerous to the poor & elderly who will have no heating or cooling when needed or be able to afford their bills when power prices keep going up. What happens when no gas , no coal , no reliable batteries , no wind blowing or after the sun has gone down and a lot of farming land destroyed to allow transmission lines. Get out of here Labor - your waffling is not acceptable.
@DonaldDeCicco Says:
The goal is to make energy scarce and expensive. This is why nuclear is hate speech.
@davidhay3417 Says:
American here, Matt thistlethwaite is a f****** clown, did he really say nuclear energy is more expensive than all the other options including solar and wind, here in the United States solar and wind, are the most expensive f****** options there are, the shity made in China solar panels and those stupid windmills only last 10 years, nuclear energy over the long run is the absolute cheapest there is, once the nuclear power plant is built, it's good for 100 years, Australia has turned into a third world far leftist s*** hole, you are 1% of the population, you can do nothing, goose egg, zero about climate change what's so f****** ever, that's a good excuse to drive your population into dire poverty, has anyone else, but me, noticed that the further left the country is, the poorer the people are, the higher the taxes, the bigger the s*** hole and everyone wants to leave. This scumbag on the right, is bought and paid for by the people who make solar panels and windmills.
@kevinforrester5129 Says:
More BS on renewables
@screamengine Says:
U308 could be $10000 a pound and not change electricity rates as much as a 25 cent hike in petrol prices. As a side effect you get to build a nice nuclear arsenal which you will wish you had one day. China is coming for Australia, militarily, like they already have, politically. Build those reactors! FAST!!!
@awc900 Says:
Not going to nuclear and attempting to rely on unreliable renewables would be much more costly.
@1JohnnyUTAH Says:
WEF wants to own all the New Energy. This shift happened during the pandemic, the Sheep still think this is just a Coincidence LoL 😆
@Dismas2503 Says:
By thetime they are built they will be redundant.
@Psittacine-pp5yd Says:
Matt Thistlethwaite talks rubbish as usual all the new energy is going to take time solar, wind, and nuclear none is going to be ready next week and they are all expensive.
@clovusb21 Says:
Sending "aid" to the ukraine is costly too.
@Super_Mario128 Says:
BS
@PopulismIsForBottomFeeders Says:
If you want to be paying $5k power bills per year for 10-15 years after they're finally built, nuclear's the way to go. You're kidding yourself if you think they won't try to recoup the **MASSIVE** construction costs of Spud's dumb nuclear plan though huge energy price increases.
@darrylweidenhofer Says:
Zero point energy. Enough said
@travisbootses2774 Says:
What a load of crap
