I personally have high hopes Burundi is on the right direction and her contributions in regional and international communities are vividly and positively appreciated. The hosting of COMESA and assuming it's rotative chairmanship is another evidence the country is on the move to another level in the context of political, diplomatic, and economic development. Those still ranking Burundi as the most poorest in the world, will have to look for another terminology as Burundi's SGR supported by Tanzania and once Musongati Nickel projects become operational! The on going initiatives by Burundi's top leadership in pushing for all Burundians to be engaged in productive sectors such as relatively modernized farming ( food and commercial crops) and livestock keeping means that food security will be assured, surplus will found local and foreign markets. Alongside these initiatives, light and heavy industries will be commenced due to increased energy generation ( hydropower in particular). Also the intensified tourism promotion will bring in the country foreign exchange. All these Government initiatives will create jobs to many young educated Burundians. The only thing the Government MUST watch out by any means possible is "Peace and Security" of the Burundians and the country it self. We know there are few individuals within and outside Burundi who would like to see the country returning back to the dark years where Government security forces (not the current government) killed it's own people simply because of their ethnic composition! This will not happen unless the country's political leadership has gone on unpaid leave! Go on God is with you.
