You must be joking. Obviously Pavel was arrested becasue he advocates free speech. Ukrainians ought to recognize this. Telegram is the only place to get direct information about what's happening in your war. I'm very surprised to hear you automatically take the side of the state on this.

If ruZZia is suddenly campaigning for a release that’s enough to make him guilty

the p diagnosed are the worst thing aboit it... then comes theb hum. trafficking... next offer he gets is to give out all the data of those criminals.. total excess into the apl so they can track them, or jail for allowing all those crimes being on his app, which then makes that app a "market" for it...

there was a government regulation in India against what’s up and many switched to telegram because it was easier to deal with. Did Indian government encourage Russia

Israel openly posted that it would burn down Palestine on Facebook, but France etc, did not arrest it 😯

On the one hand, the declared reasons for his detention are laughable. It's like detaining the CEO of Apple because some criminal used an iPhone. On the other hand, I have a few questions that I had hoped journalists would be able to answer: what was he doing in Azerbaijan, under what circumstances was Telegram ban lifted in Russia, and how did he get a French passport and from whom, without even being a resident of France.

The idiocracy crew with El zMusk in the front row is screaming about freedom of speech and other tick words, but why are those people so invested in a world where lying, fraud and crimes is hiding behind their beliefs of freedom of speech, not equality, integrity and honesty??? We are being boycotted, they say 😅😊
@shchenka5973 Says:
Dear journalists. Hes has been detained, not arrested as for now. There's a difference.

❤Hi🖖Sweden here, good discussion about this topic. Apple has tried but failed to protect their users, and the Israeli company Cellebrite has successfully managed to break the code and extract all the data from iPhones and other devices, even the deleted data. I'm sure that some security experts/hackers and/or countries have, or soon have done the same for Telegram, signal and other platforms. What's more important is what our governments are doing to protect us the citizens from having our data stolen or handed over to other extremists, private organizations or dictator wannabes, inside or outside our countries?? In Sweden it's a catastrophe waiting to happen. What about Ukraine, if your government was suddenly overthrown by a Putin fanatic?? Siberia would be overpopulated and the executioners would work 24-7😮😢 How much personal information does our politicians and departments need, and is it safe??? We must have a discussion about what's necessary to run a country and how to protect the citizens of the country..... Slava Ukraine and democracy from Sweden

Yewleea is the voice of reason. Thanks for keeping the debate intelligent.

It's ironic the people who make the most noise about 'free speech' are the ones who want to take it away from everyone else.

It seemed dangerous to me so I didn’t join telegram and warned others that a genuine Russian dissident doesn’t flee Russia and set up in the UAE, which is friendly to Putin.
@yookoala Says:
Both Ukrainians and Russians are doing channels on Telegram without any of them got banned or demonetized. There is no evidence of Telegram surrendering any personal data to any regieme. There are quite a lot of regieme complaining that Telegram is not cooperative in "monitoring" their users. I can just say it is a privilege to have freedom of speech without the need of privacy-centric platform like Signal or Telegram.

Wow.uncomfortable. ‘Russian World’ struggling beneath an amazing intellectually well informed woman. Respect for her. The slouching gentleman was out of his element!
@BarryGrumbine Says:
It would have been nice to hear Serhii's thoughts and hear a complete sentence from Henry. Through all the chatter they almost got a clear thought out... While I disagree with a good chunk of the babble, I appreciate the reminder that, even in private discourse, if my "freedom" impinges immorally upon the freedom of others, I should be held accountable for my actions. Thanks.

The man ran a no holds barred web site, what about freedom of speech? If people were using is site to do illegal things those folks should be arrested. This is a very tricky issue for me being an American and former user of the dark web. TOR is not the dark web, but used to access the dark web. Telegram doesn't have to answer US issued subpoenas, so if one uses the dark web a VPN outside the US must be used.
@1Rene9Night5cart0 Says:
Pavel Durov, with his older brother Nikolai also developed VK c. 2006. In 2014 he refused to give up intel on Maidan protesters. Then Putin and cronies took control of (stole it) VK. He then left Ruzzia becoming an expat. Telegram is widely used in Ukraine also. Looks like a NWO/Deepstate 'throw spaghetti against the wall' attack vs Durov, similar to rearrest of Tates, to me.

@mikaluostarinen4858 Says:
People don't fear giving information about their crimes to the FSB. Surely no one will be blackmailed I guess.
@TimberTaipei Says:
I want to see the guy on the left (Serhii) argue his points in his language. She's able to talk over him because of her mastery of english, but he's got excellent points that he's unable to articulate due to how talkative Yewleea is. He's coming from a very different ideological background that makes sense to those of us who lean small government that makes no sense to big government people. Whether they are right or wrong, she's poking jabs at him at "not being on the right side" because he's questioning the narrative she wants to portray. That isn't discourse the convinces anyone. She would be a great American politician. I'd like to see Telegram stay up. Eventually people slip up and get caught. And it's much easier to do it if the information is public. The vulnerable and marginalized need something they can use that keeps them safe too. IE occupied areas and Russian dissidence.

is TG is so crooked , why are there so many UA channels on it?? Why is it still available in the app stores... just ban it there... it might also be the only remaining free channel of information inside of russia. For me, the only problem with TG is that it's not opensource (same for Whatsapp, fb messenger etc) , if it's not opensource, there can be a backdoor. Signal and Session are the only truely private messengers for me.
@ibpsupplyman Says:
We meet ANOTHER UA member >>> we hear him on voice overs >>> NOW we "see" him ! Welcome Serhii ! Great to "meet" you !!!!

The lady cared about Russian soldiers’ brains posted on telegram. Yes, it’s gross and shouldn’t be posted. But she could have given a different example if she is really for Ukraine and freedom of speech. And then she went on her weird leftist rant of a typical person with TDS with that strange giggle. Really? Wrong approach.
@toi_techno Says:
Good to see this happening Ukrainians using Telegram has never sat well with me Here in Ireland no one who isn't a right wing scumbag or a drug dealer uses it It's Russian asset and the idea that it is secure from the FSB is ridiculously naive and makes the Russian neighbours who use it seem like simple bumpkins
