The parties of Tupperware, like Mary Kay, is a pyramid scheme. The ones at the very top are the ones that made the most money.

@feminineheart Says:
I love Tupperware, but they were elite and arrogant and you had to search for a salesperson. They didn’t make their products easily accessible. You can’t do that and expect your success to last. Such a shame.
@StephenEspitia Says:
Not unexpected. A decline in spending ability among the middle class such as cheaper, though not better, is affordable.
@charlessomerset9754 Says:
I remember my mom - horribly behind the times with a beehive hairdo in 1972 - hosting Tupperware parties in our house where the centerpiece was a huge bowl of punch with sliced limes floating on top. My mom would run me out of the house, threatening physical harm if I came back in while all the neihbors cars were still in the driveway. So I was encouraged to wander far and wide with my orange schwinn with banana seat, pennant, and stuttering bycicle card in its spokes. And before long all the kids in the neihborhood would gather and cause trouble when these Tupperware parties were in full swing. And if the parties graduated to spiked punch, we pretty much had all day to do as we pleased.
With today's helicopter parents who refuse to let their kids even smell fresh air, let alone go outside and explore, we have lost a fundamental rite of passage for kids of a certain age. Now neihborhood streets are mostly empty, while the poor kids are trapped inside spending hours online. There is a profound sadness to all this. So I guess what I'm saying is: thank you Tupperware. You gave me some of the most adventurous days of my childhood. I will look back on you with nostalgic fondness.

@anthonygriffin1958 Says:
Actually, the party isn't over for the Tupperware company filing under Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the process. It's about restructuring the company in the process. It's Chapter 13, which puts a company out of business in the process. Knowledge Is Power! 📚 📖

@Trumpisafatweirdo Says:
How is this "stunning" in any way? This has happened across all industries with huge companies undercutting prices for the last thirty years.

I have sets of Tupperware that my mother and my mother-in-law bought in the 60s and 70s.
@juliemuir3271 Says:
Another example of over pricing driving another long time company out of business. Try making things more affordable. This is your own fault.
@moonbeam7815 Says:
Ziploc will buy them over! The most unfortunate part is people are calling regular alternate brands of plastic containers "Tupperware"
@CrazyMaryJo Says:
I never liked Tupperware. I prefer glass or ceramic storage.
@EddVCR Says:
In Japan, Tupperware has become a part of the Japanese vocabulary. We call plastic food containers Tuppers.
@cherylcarr5690 Says:
😢 WOW it finally happened. Sad day for them but their name will continue on as we label every piece of plastic containers in our cupboards Tupperware. Thanks for the good times and many parties I went to ❤️❤️❤️
@gruntherblendin388 Says:
Don't know why they didn't expand into higher end designer glass containers as a companion prestige line. They need some creative designers to make their products stand out and above the cheap knockoffs. They really needed to make some futuristic looking stuff for the 21st century.
@rutha1464 Says:
Good thing the bowls last forever!
@almonedalimuel Says:
It's such a household name in my country that people literally call lunchboxes as tupperware
@roccocroce Says:
Nobody’s buying that. There’s cheaper and better options available. They had an opportunity to diversify the brand and sell it for cheaper, they chose not to. Bankrupt. That’s how it works.
@Pokedad379 Says:
This was like the only stock I bought in my whole stock market career and I got 3 shares and forgot to sell them
