My intuition is that we may see a professional assassination attempt from an already in place group from Iran who are probably more desperate than the Democrats. A significant minority were upset with the oligarchy in the 90s when Ross Perot tested the waters. After the Bush Obama years they actually elected Trump. In the present, I think the realignment has taken place. The Democrats are now the party of the Conservative status quo and the new Republican Party the party of reform and most of them including Trump are former Democrats.
