This suggests the SLR rate is now around 5 mm/y in 2024. The SLR doubling rate since satellite altimetry data began in Jan 1993 has been around 18 years. So an SLR rate of 5 mm/y now, in less than 2 decades then accelerates to 10 mm/y, and then 20 mm/y, 𝘦𝘵𝘤, assuming an exponential progression.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 of SLR accelerate from around 5 mm/year now (i.e. in 2024) to 10 mm/year sometime in the 2030s, and accelerate further to 20 mm/year perhaps by the late-2040s.
