The best thing Podcast and legacy media can do during the election is "Do not pick a side" and be honest with the facts and information. You can't lose if you don't have a team, and that is a win regardless.

@KT37915A Says:
The Lindy Li interview raised many interesting questions about how the campaign spent its money in the last election. Although on its face, the amount of money spent looks bad, especially after a loss; however, it seems the strategists carried the Biden strategy and put it on Kamala, this was a gigantic mistake. This started at the convention, thinking it was a referendum all about Donald Trump, but in fact, it was always about Kamala Harris. Unfortunately, they figured this out too late, which led to a lot of last-minute spending in a media blitz to reframe her image and increase turnout. They used every penny in this effort, and they had to if they wanted any shot at winning. For donors, I get it -- it's tough to see money poured into a campaign that doesn't pan out. I've been there; Hillary Clinton was the last candidate I supported financially, and after that experience, I told myself, "never again."
From the campaign's side, they'd never admit they might lose and that is especially true in a turnout election, but I think they expected a closer race and possibly a win. Polling typically starts with a range of possible voter turnout numbers. The campaign would then target start counting likely-voters based on the voter rolls and start counting to see if they are close to that number. They plan based on this target, mapping out different scenarios and choosing where to focus their efforts. For example, in Pennsylvania, they probably thought meeting or beating Biden's 2020 numbers would be enough to win the state. Although she exceeded Biden's vote count, they didn't anticipate a 1% boost in statewide turnout (mostly in the suburban and rural areas) combined with a 3% drop in Philadelphia. That shift alone likely resulted in a roughly 2% loss in Pennsylvania. I'm sure they considered it as a possible outcome, but unfortunately for them, Biden's 2020 numbers didn't carry them through. All the states were like that. Significant metropolitan areas were down, and Rural and Suburban areas had increased turnout.
There is a saying... Democrats fall in love, and Republicans fall in line. For the Republican Party, it is easy: it will be JD Vance or Nikki Haley. For the Democrats, looking forward to 2028 is futile at best. Li's presidential candidates, Josh Shapiro and Gavin Newsom, aren't exactly a surprise. I would also not be surprised to see John Kelly, Gretchen Whitmer, Michelle Obama, Tim Walz, Andy Beshear, and Amy Klobuchar in the mix; however, the anticipated front runners usually don't win the primary. While it's fun to speculate, I don't necessarily see any of these becoming the ultimate nominee. One likely will be a strong contender, but not the nominee. In 2028, J.B. Pritzker could be a solid bet—he'd have time to step back as governor and focus on a run. He's a billionaire, so he has the funds to get started, eloquence, and appeal to attract the progressive base that often decides primaries. Still, I think we'll likely see a fresh face. Democrats tend to rally around lesser-known leaders who appeal to the great promise of America, as they did with Kennedy, Clinton, and Obama. Who will that be at this point? At this point, it is just pure speculation, but I would bet that the candidate in 2028 is probably someone we barely know and probably someone we now don't expect to even run. A couple of contenders that I think are possible are Angela Alsobrooks and Jared Polis.
