China has launched a scientific satellite serving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into orbit from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center by a Long March VI carrier rocket. Code-named "SDGSAT-1," it's the very first satellite aimed at helping to realize the 17 goals set in 2015. The satellite will observe environmental changes on earth caused by the coastal ecosystem and human activities like urbanization, habitation and energy consumption.
