More trains are departing from the Shanghai Hongqiao Station as the city's COVID-19 infections have declined, observing months of closed-off management imposed since early March. All passengers must show a set of documents to board the train, including a negative PCR test result and a green health code, etc. Domestic flights to Shanghai will also be gradually resumed, according to local authorities.
The local government announced on May 17 that the city has succeeded in cutting off the community-based transmission of COVID-19 in all its 16 districts, which means the existing new cases reported in the city are all from areas under closed-off management or subject to precautionary protocols.
