Sydneysiders embarking on a getaway are being told to plan ahead on the first weekend since restrictions on regional travel were lifted in New South Wales.
The rules banning Greater Sydney residents from travelling to rural areas of the state were eased on Monday.
The reopening of regional travel is only available to those who are fully vaccinated.
Motorists are being warned to expect delays and increased traffic.
Authorities are asking drivers to be patient and slow down after nine people lost their lives on New South Wales roads this week.

First, it’s been shown that my natural immunity is 7X more effective than your vaccine acquired immunity. Second, the “jab” (marketing…nice try) keeps you safe from nothing. NOTHING!
