Shalatin will have to 'iron out' a 'few wrinkles' at Saturday's $1 million Golden Gift race if he is to book a spot in the Golden Slipper, says Racing NSW expert Bray Gray.
'He did really well in the Kirkham Plate,' he told Sky News Australia.
"He did a couple of things wrong so he's got a few wrinkles to iron out in terms of his racing manners, but I do think he's a horse loaded with talent.
'I just hope he jumps clean and can park somewhere in the midfield and he might be finishing somewhere over the top and book his spot in the Golden Slipper.'
