AEMO CEO Daniel Westerman says Australia is well on the way to transitioning its power sector to renewables.
'What we're seeing already is the planning for the exit of our traditional thermal generators and the massive investment in renewable generators,' Mr Westerman told Sky News Australia.
'Which are frankly the lowest cost source of new energy for consumers.'
